covid-19 compliance policy
MK III - 04.11.2020
IMPORTANT - Please note that the Church is currently CLOSED for all and any groups, services and meetings. This COVID Compliance Policy remains on the site so that people can familiarise themselves with what is expected of them ahead of when we eventually re-open.
It is of utmost importance that anyone visiting the Church first familiarises themselves with the following Compliance Policy, which has been put together in accordance with legal guidelines, and for the safety and wellbeing of all.
As we have a duty of care, to both our congregation and also the committee who serve you, we request that, in order to ensure the safety of everyone, should you or any in your household feel in any way unwell, exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 or even a cold, please refrain from visiting our Church until such time as you feel better.
Please also do not attend the Church if you are self-isolating, shielding or quarantining in any way, even if you do not personally feel unwell.
FACE MASKS AND COVERINGS
As of Saturday 8th August 2020, it is now required by law that visitors wear a mask or face covering when attending our Church.
To quote the respective legislation (which is legally enforceable and not merely advisory):
"In England, you must wear a face covering in places of worship. You are expected to wear a face covering before entering and must keep it on until you leave unless there is a reasonable excuse for removing it."
The same legislation also compells us to uphold this law, as further quoted:
"Premises where face coverings are required should take reasonable steps to promote compliance with the law. The police can take measures if members of the public do not comply with this law without a valid exemption."
As a result of this, we must insist that all visitors attending our Church wear a face mask at all times - including during services - unless medically or otherwise exempt from doing so.
For details on when you are not required to wear a face covering, please see the government's official guidance by clicking HERE.
PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY
On arrival, in order to comply with COVID-19 guidelines, you will be asked to provide your contact details, as has been requested by the Government in order to assist with track and trace, should someone in attendance later develop symptoms.
As this will take some time, we kindly ask visitors and members to arrive in plenty of time ahead of a Service's start time.
ENTRANCE AND EXIT
Please enter the Church building by the front door, where hand sanitisers will be available and recommended to be used. You may exit the building by the front door or via the rear door on to the car park.
Seating inside the Church shall be arranged in order to meet with Government guidelines. There shall also be no serving of refreshments before, during or after Services. Please respect social distancing guidelines and keep a safe distance from those outside your household at all times.
PRECAUTONS AND REDUCING THE RISK
We are eager to continue Services, but we will require the help and cooperation of all in order to do this safely.
Necessary Health and Safety measures are being implemented for the wellbeing of all, including the regular cleaning of Church spaces, and hand sanitisers available on entering and exiting the Church.
SINGING OF HYMNS
In accordance with guidelines, there will be no singing of hymns at any Service, but music for reflection will be played.
This Compliance Policy shall be regularly reviewed to ensure it is in accordance with the most up-to-date guidelines and scientific advice. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to our Church, and kindly ask that you work with us to adhere to the above during these difficult and uncertain times.
